Bioinformatician in the Computational Metagenomics

Research and Work

I am a bioinformatician working in the Computational Metagenomics Lab located Bielefeld University, and study during my PhD a more general way of comparing metagenomes utilizing meta data. The analysed metagenomes range from environmental samples over energy producing bio gas plants to complex clinical data sets.

In summer 2015 I worked as an intern in the R&D department of illumina Inc. in Cambridge, UK, in the Computational Biology group with the focus on cancer genomes and the construction of gold standard somatic variant call sets.
