Research and Work
I am a computer scientist in the natural sciences, working actually in the SFB 1288 - Practices of Comparing - as a data analyst and infrastructure specialist for the digital humanities.
Since September 2017 I hold a PhD in the natural sciences. I studied the usage of metadata in machine learning-driven metagenomics. In addition to that I analysed metagenomic data sets ranging from environmental samples over energy producing bio gas plants to complex clinical data sets.
I worked as an intern in the R&D department of illumina Inc. in Cambridge, UK, in the Computational Biology group with the focus on cancer genomes and the construction of gold standard somatic variant call sets. I was also a visiting researcher at Joint Genome Institue DOE, USA.
